Whereas the Buster Bar has an overall more creamy and smooth texture, the Dilly Bar has a crunchy exterior and has more flavor variety due to the almonds. The two types of ice cream desserts have different textures, flavors, and nutritional values. As they are both made with vanilla ice cream, the main difference is the crunchy chocolate shell of the Buster Bar versus the hard chocolate shell of the Dilly Bar. A Buster Bar is made with a thick crunchy chocolate shell surrounding soft serve vanilla ice cream, topped with chocolate pieces, sprinkles, and/or nuts.Ī Dilly Bar is made with soft serve vanilla ice cream hand-dipped in a hard chocolate shell with added almonds. But something happens when you put it all together on a stick and cover it with chocolate. While I was making these, I wondered if they would just taste like ice cream in a bowl with hot fudge and peanuts. The smooth one in the middle is the one that I dipped. You will use the whole container of ice cream, but cups will only be about 1/2 full.* *Important note: The cups will not be full. Place finished bars on waxed paper covered cookie sheet and put them back in the freezer. This should release them from the cups easily.ĭip the bars (a large yogurt container works well for this) or spread chocolate onto the ice cream bars. ![]() If they don’t release easily, run them under cool water for a few seconds. To remove the ice cream bars from the cups, give them a gentle squeeze. Pour chocolate chips and vegetable oil in a microwave safe bowl. Scoop more ice cream over the fudge and peanuts, tamping it smooth with the ice cream scoop. Add a dollop of hot fudge on top of the ice cream. Tamp it down smooth with the end of the ice cream scoop. Dip 1″ or 1 1/2″ of ice cream into the bottom of each cup.
